Marquoir Marie~Rose completed

With happiness and great sadness, here is the finished Marquoir! I stitched this final part over the weekend. This was fun to do the SAL from Anne~Valerie's blog. I am so pleased with this sampler. I worried throughout parts one and two that I didn't pick the right colors. They were very bright for me, especially the pink. It balanced out more as I stitched it and by part four, I was loving these colors.

As you see, I choose to use the original name and date on mine. I feel this is a reproduction of an old sampler and should be true to the original. It is part of the charm of stitching it. I will document it with a label on the back of the frame.

I will miss not having to stitch on this sampler but we are already starting a new SAL (Rosewood Manor's Silent Sampler)this weekend and I will pick up one of my old SALs that I got very behind on.

I now have to start looking for a frame to finish it off and hang it with all my other samplers in our bedroom. It is going to look perfect with them. Once I get it framed, I will share that final photo with you.

Heidi,
Congratulations on finishing this beautiful sampler. The colours are perfect - you couldn't have chosen a nicer selection.
I can understand you feeling sad as well as delighted that you have finished. It's like saying goodbye to a dear friend but the pleasure of stitching on it will now be replaced by the endless enjoyment you will get from seeing your framed, displayed treasure.
Hugs, Angela :>)

Its beautiful, and I think that striking pink color makes it!

I agree about using the original date, make it an interesting conversation piece, too.

Check out the Tempus Fugit blog for details of another, similar free sampler. I think I'd like to have a go at this one.
