Quilt shop 'De Lander'

Back in December, I went to Brugge, Belgium for a couple of days. This is my favorite city in Europe and I try to go a few times a year. The city is amazing and like walking in an open air museum.

There is a quilt shop there that I just had to share with you all. It is run by a wonderful lady who really has an eye for making this shop a very magical place! Isn't the quilt in the window just adorable! Katie is not only warm and welcoming but she has a wonderful collection of items for quilting and decorating. Even for those who do not quilt, this is a great shop.

One of Katie's special talents is her bears. She makes the most beautiful kits which she sells in her shop. The mouse I used to display my pinkeep a while ago on the blog was made by her.

I think this quilt shop is a must for anyone going to Brugge! Check out her website at http://www.delander.be/ .

Heidi,
Thank you for sharing the shop with me. The pictures are so neat, I would love to be there in person. Gorgeous quilt in the window and I love those long windows and the store front, etc. I can easily see why you are drawn there. Neat website, too!

Hi. My friend and I visited your lovely shop on Saturday 26th April having found you on the net. We were not disappointed. What a charming shop and needless to say you relieved us of some of our euros. Your enthusiasm for your craft was passionate and it showed in the way you helped us with our purchases. Your bag pattern is lovely and I am at the moment in the throws and making one for my friend and one for myself. When we come again, we will make another visit. I strongly recommend anyone interested in patchwork etc visit you. Happy sewing from the UK, Heather & Sandy

I found this adorable quilt shop this past Wednesday (2 Dec 2009) whilst visiting Brugge - in the grand scheme of things a small shop but filled with treasures. I could EASILY have spent all my hours just browsing and enjoying it all.
I am already planning a trip back to Brugge to spend time wandering around a wonderful little town, and to spend lots more time (and euros) visiting De Lander.
