Yesterday my mother arrived for a month long visit and I was able to give her the birthday present I made for her. One item was a vintage (1940s) knitting book which she loved. This is the second gift...
This chart was called 'The Gossips'. It is a chart from a bobbin lacemakers series. Click on the photo to enlarge it. I framed the piece and then added two vintage bobbins tied with vintage lace to the frame. Fun that we two are also the gossips as we catch up with everything while she is here.

What a lovely gift - and one that will mean so much to the recipient. It was nice to be able to enlarge the photo to see the detail - I'll have to figure out how to do that too!

I love your pillows, they are beautiful and I can't believe you whipped them up in an hour, wow! I would probably be all day doing it. I'm new to your blog and just stopped in to say Hi!
I hope you have an enjoyable stay with your Mom.
I love to do needlework. My favorite is crewel but I am trying my hand at doing some counted cross-stitch and needlepoint. I found your blog from another site and looked you up. I love the picture you made your Mom. It is wonderful and the old bobbins and lace just finish it off nicely.
It must be wonderful to have your Mom to visit with you for a whole month. You will have so much fun sharing good conversation and working on crafts together. Enjoy!
Hello Heidi,
I forgot to say: of course your stepfather is very welcome as well!!! So stupid I didn't say that earlier. I really am a silly cow sometimes. Please forgive me ...
