Halloween pincushion # 4

Here is my fourth in my Halloween pincushions. Isn't this Jack o' Lantern a fun place to put your pins during the holiday?

I am going to have a Halloween pincushion give~away. If you can choose the correct symbol for my next Halloween pincushion, your name will be entered for the drawing. The winner will receive one of my Halloween pincushions. Just leave a comment and tell me which of the following is your guess as to my next pincushion:

1. Bat
2. Witch's broom
3. Owl

The Jack-o'-lantern
by Florence Lind

Billy brought a pumpkin in
And Mother scraped it out.
Daddy carved a little mouth
With such a funny pout.

Sally cut some crooked eyes
And trimmed the thing with beads,
While everybody laughed at me
Because I saved the seeds.

But I will plant them in the spring
And wait till fall, and then -
I'll have at least a hundred
Jack-o'-lantern men!

  1. Heidi,
I have been enjoying reading your blog since I joined For the Love of Stitching. Your Halloween pincushions are adorable and what a clever idea! Love them all........I would say your next pincushion will be a bat.
Will be anxious to see it no matter which one you choose to make!

  2. I'm saying the next one will be an owl. And you can stick the pins in the eyes - (did I really say that - ha)!

  5. Oh Heidi,
What a lovely bright and cheerful addition to your pincushion collection. You are really inspiring us with your creativity.
I really enjoyed lovely poem by Frances Lind so I thought I would have a go at writing a little ditty about your competition :>)

    The Competition!
    A bat, a witch's broom and owl
    I wonder what to choose
The right one will give me a chance
Pick wrong and I will lose.

I'd love to have a pincushion
    To celebrate the Season
And knowing that it's from a friend
    Is yet another reason.

But, the fun is in the game, we're told
And not to win the prize,
So, I'm going to choose the bat, I think
    And wait for the surprize.

Haha! I say a bat!! Hugs, Angela

  13. Hi:
I said the thing, I said " why did you put the pins in his heart?"
What was she thinking. Oh well, after all he is just a ghost and can't feel it.
    Love you, Mom
