Shamrock fun!

Last year, I wanted to make something for St. Patrick's Day but just never got around to it. This year, I am ready for March 17th to arrive as my house is all in clover...

I saved this sweet pattern and it was so much fun to make these shamrocks. I did not 'grunge' (dirty look) them as the pattern suggested. I like these fabrics from my stash as they are.

I used gold safety pins instead of the rusted ones. To me St. Patrick's Day says leprechauns and the pot of gold. Still looking for both by the way...

I wonder if anyone will believe this when they come through my front door? *grins*

It was fun making these muslin tags to attach. I had to draw the letters freehand as I don't have a stamp but am pleased with how they have turned out. Having learned calligraphy as a girl really does come in handy.

Note to all who have been supporting me through the health problems with my thyroid, I wanted to let everyone know that I just spoke with the doctor and the biopsy was okay. She is not happy with the amount of cells removed and wants to repeat it in 4 to 6 months to be sure but says I can go ahead with my treatments starting on Monday. I will not know until Tuesday whether I am able to go into my isolation here at home or start it with a hospital stay. I also have no idea yet how long the isolation will be but it is a maximum of three weeks. Thank goodness for blogging as it will keep me in touch with the world. I am used to seeing my stitching and quilting friends here and while I am allowed to have visitors it is with restrictions. I will leave them the choice as to whether they want to come or not. Thank you so much for your supportive emails! I really do appreciate it and all your thoughts and prayers over the past month.

I love the Shamrocks and your printing is always perfect (well, after all, you are Mary Poppins) LOL.
I don't know if you will convince your ladies you are Irish, but Jos will probably take you up on the offer.
I hope you have a fun night tonight with the quilt ladies.
Love you bunches, Mom

Clever clover idea. I love what you did with them.

Heidi, I haven't been blogging for too long so forgive me for not kowing about your dilemma. I'm sorry you're having such uncertain times. I had thyroid issues myself awhile back and was on beta blockers, still am, but I am safe and clear now. My issues are my back and neck. In fact, I'm having a procedure done on my spine on the 16th that we're hoping will relieve me of my pain. I don't want surgery if I don't have to.

I'm only telling you this because I want you to know that someone who admires you is going through a battle too and if you need to talk I am here to offer compassion and understanding of ones trials. I'll be thinking of you and wishing you no more hospital stays OR visits.

I'm glad that the biopsy was okay. It will be good that you can keep in touch with everyone via the internet whether your stay will be at home or away.
I'm not sure that you will fool anyone with your shamrocks either. How is your Irish accent?

Hello Irish loving girl! Love the little 'klavertjes'. Leuk idee en fijn dat het je voor 17 mrt is gelukt.
Ik denk dat je relatief gezien blij bent met de uitslag van het biopt. In elk geval goed dat de behandeling kan doorgaan. Ik denk aan je!

Oh Heidi, what a wonderful way to prepare your house for St. Patrick's Day. I love the little shamrocks, they are so nice.
Glad to hear that your biopsy was OK. I do hope that the following treatment will bring you soem healthier times. I'm sure that thanks to the internet the time of your isolation won't be as bad as it could be. I'll keep thinking of you.

Heidi,
What pretty shamrocks and I love the little labels. I can imagine little leprechauns doing a jig on St Patrick's Day, wearing little green hats with these captions on them :>)

I was so relieved to read the results of the biopsy were clear but it's good that your doctor wants to keep it monitored. Hope you are able to be isolated at home, that will make you feel better from the start but, if it isn't possible then take lots of projects with you and make the most of your little 'holiday' :>_
warm hugs, Angela

Oh. I am so relieved the biopsy was okay, though worried that your doctor has reservations about it. If you decide you would like a visitor from Gouda, please let me know! :D

I'm so glad the biopsy was good news even if they want to keep an eye on it in the future. It is better to be cautious sometimes. I hope you get to stay at home for your isolation. When I was a kid I never understood why it was a punishment to be sent to your room, I loved my room and would gladly spend hours there! As long as you can have some of "your" things and have people who love you, you can make any place a "home".

Heidi the shamrocks are soooo cute! I'm glad you got a chance to make them. I know how it is to plan to stitch projects for the holidays and then realize that the day is fast approaching and you can't finish them in time...I'm thinking about Easter now; hopefully I'll get a couple of planned projects done soon.

Glad to hear the biopsy is clear...
(((Hugs))) and well wishes

Oh, the shamrocks are so sweet..I know there must be some wee folks and a pot of gold near by.
Great news to hear your biopsy was clear....hope you are at home for your isolation period, but if you are in the hospital take lots of book and projects to keep you entertained. Thinking of you and sending good thought your way...hugs, Linda

I love the shamrocks Heidi where did you get the pattern??? You put me to shame here's me living in Ireland & nothing Irish to display for Paddy's day!!!!!!
I have an underactive thyroid & the weight has piled on me over the last 2 years but at least I am not just as tired as I used to be there were days when I could hardly summon up the energy to get dressed. I hope you get everything sorted soon Marie x

Dear Heidi, What a fantastic St. Pat's Day idea!! It's perfect for your entry, and fun to read on the little shamrocks. I bet you had fun making them.
You are in my prayers as you go through this last treatment time. I'm hoping you retain your strength and can stitch or read.
We'll be there for you. Hugs, Deb
