It a busy workshop here in my house for us elves. I have finished three gifts and wrapped them. One gift is for my quilt group Christmas party. We use a theme each year and this year the theme is winter. I will share the gift later in December after my gift has been opened. It feels so good to have it finished and ready. I am still working on wrapping the 12 gifts that each member gets that night too.
I have also finished SinterKlaas gifts for my two lacemaking friends as we get together again next week. Sonja and I talked yesterday and she was trying to get me to slip and tell her what I was making. Here is a little peek Sonja! Guess you have to wait until next week. *grins*
I pulled Brigitta's name on my stash giveaway and put the package together today. I decided to put a few items for the holidays (holiday buttons for scrapbooking or sewing, a Lavender and Lace angel, and a Santa bottle stopper) and some thinking ahead to spring (Polstitches Jobelan cloth with a matching DMC thread and half meter matching quilt fabric) in the gift. It is on the way Brigitta and I so hope you enjoy it!
Now while it is busy right now, I am still doing some stitching. I worked on my Ohio ...
Edit - January 8, 2009 - I have deleted all entries pertaining to the MB circe 1810 sampler I was working on after receiving an email from the designer, who I do not know, sharing her opinion about my changing a color in the design. This was done not to offend but because the color was not visible on the linen. I am sorry that I am no longer able to share this with my readers.
What is it about alphabets and stitching? An alphabet makes any chart so wonderful. Even a simple chart with just A, B, C is charming. This sampler has three alphabets on it and I am really enjoying stitching them.

Your Ohio sampler is looking good. I think the winner is getting some very nice things. I bet she will be happy. No comment on the blog over what we talked about on Skype. LOL.
loveeeeee you, Mom
Dear Miss Heidi, The package lookes lovely, but could you please be so kind to make another picture with less paper and things around the gift???LOL.You really make me cureous about what is inside! It is the same kind of fun we used to have as I was a little girl and my parents did the same, telling me what I could do with the present: you can sit on it, you can hang it on your wall, you can take it with you on your bike, you can't eat it...etc. Love this guessing what it might be. Groetjes Sonja
I love your stitchery...it is beautiful. I bet that takes alot of time and patience...
Heidi - I wish I were one of your quilting ladies but I fear that my family would not want to relocate to Holland just so I could be at your house! Your stitchery is amazing to me. You are so talented!
Beautiful work as usual Heidi. What a generous giveaway too!! I love Lavender & Lace charts. I have one sitting in my workbox (the quiltmaker) but as yet untouched but when I see your lovely cross stitch I want to start it now if only I had 24 more hours in the day lol!!!!! Marie x
I can imagine you like to do the alphabets, they look charming and graceful!
Wishing you lots of fun in making this Ohio 'roots' sampler & hugs, Carolien
Heidi, I love your sampler and such lovely work, for some reason I'm drawn to samplers. I tried to peek in the gift bags....too much tissue:), I'll just have to wait for the party pictures. I'm getting excited for Christmas too...but I'm not nearly as ready as you...I best get busy.....
What a neat give-away...Brigitta will love everything. Hugs, Linda
I am totally lost for words Heidi (and trust me, that's a rarity) I'm totally in love with your gift, everything is so much to my taste, you wouldn't believe it. Thank you very much, I feel very blessed and grateful!!
Your sampler is coming along beautifully, I'm hoping to start on the Beatrix Potter Sampler in the New Year and am really looking forward to it.

Hi, Heidi! The sampler is coming along beautifully...it is lovely. And the elves are really making a great start on Christmas there! Please my I borrow one or two of your elves...I feel so behind on all the preparations already--LOL! Happy Day, my friend ((HUGS))
O shoot, now I'm behind..
I'm gona be behind the sewingmachine this evening. i have to catch up. So i have all the time of the world next weekend to work on the centennial sampler in Appelscha...
Hello Heidi
I agree with you completely regarding alphabets - there is something deeply satisfying and endlessly interesting in what can be done with 20-something letters. I've made many samplers over the years and it is always the alphabet that attracts me, rather than any other motif.
The municipal election is over and my blog is open again. I'll have to make it a part of my day again!!
xo
It's a beautiful sampler and you're right, letters just give it that special something! I love the soft fall colors - it gives it a wonderful coziness to it. How good of you that you've already completed some gifts! You have been a busy elf indeed! I've been doing my best to get some handwork done while work is going on in the house, and preparing for Thanksgiving.
Hope all is well and that we'll talk soon!
many hugs,
Heidi
How beautiful! My favorite things to make are samplers. There is something so simple about them.
Heidi, I so need to catch up with you but will do so when I don't have mashed potatoes in my nails! tee hee. Wishing you a wonderful day and a Happy Thanksgiving!
Hugs to all of you,
Becky
